General information:
Hsinchu Science Park (HSP, http://eweb.sipa.gov.tw/en/) is established to introduce high-tech industries and attract talent to Taiwan, promote the upgrading of Taiwanese industries, balance regional development and drive national economic development. It is primarily focused on semiconductors. Since the HSP was established in December 1980, a total of 384 high-tech companies had been established in the park by the end of 2004, a total of 632 hectares had been developed for the HSP proper, plus an additional 141 hectares for the Jhunan Park. During its 24 year history, the HSP has focused both on research and production, thus profoundly impacting the local economic development and giving the HSP an international reputation and establishing it as a model imitated by other countries.
Nanyuan Restaurant (http://nanyuan.theonestyle.com/in2.asp) provides traditional Hakka delicacies with creative innovations, and is famous for its beautiful garden with remarkable architect. The restaurant haves the most pleasant environment, where you can enjoy the fine view and delicious food.

National Taiwan University Campus Tour

General information:
National Taiwan University (NTU), originally founded as ¡§Taihoku Imperial University¡¨ by the Japan government in 1928, has the history for more than 80 years. The half-day tour will take participants to campuses of NTU, including the main campus and the College of Public Health. Please come and enjoy roaming in the campus. The beautiful view and the historical buildings will give you a leisurely afternoon.

General information:
The activity aims to promote the understanding of occupational and environmental health issues in the world by providing a forum for discussion to students in the field of occupational and environmental health from different countries. Students can share national or personal experiences, have dialogues and feedbacks from each other, and construct an international new investigator research network on environmental and occupational health.
The discussion will focus on current challenges and solutions in the field of environmental and occupational health through a student¡¦s perspective, including highlight of the major problem, description of the health impacts, discussion on current intervention strategies, and recommendations. Students can also concentrate on educational system of environmental and occupational health of their countries.
The session will begin with an introduction of the need to exchange cross-national experiences in the field of environmental and occupational health for students. In general, four to five eligible participants from different countries will be grouped together. Each group will then start discussing and exchanging their perspectives of environmental and occupational health issues in their own countries. Finally, representatives of each group will have to brief their summaries.

General information:
This activity aims to provide students an opportunity to learn how to prepare and run a session under the guidance of experienced chairpersons. An assay competition also will be held. Students who participate in this activity will first choose the topic in interests. Upon the session chairperson¡¦s agreement, the student will be assigned to one of the session in the topic that he/she is interested in and will be asked to turn in an assay after the session within four hours. The assay should be limited to one A4 sized paper and should have at least two paragraphs. In the first paragraph, the student should summarize the contents of that session. In the second paragraph, the student should discuss the contribution of the presented research. The chairperson will revise and finalize the assay and share them with all the speakers in that session. The winner of the competition will be announced during the conference and invited to join the banquet (19:00 on April 23rd, 2010) for free, sitting next to that chairperson. After the conference, the winning assays from this activity will be posted on the internet either in the official website or in a blog.
